Why Believers Give Tithe

Malachi 3:7-15, Heb.7:1-10
'That the soul be without knowledge, it is not good' Prov. 19:2. When we know why we are doing something we get the highest benefit from such acts. God expects us to do all things with understanding. The knowledge of why we do some things can also motivate us to keep it and helps up to do it better.
Tithe giving for example has been subject of debate and questions in some quarters within the true body of Christ while on other parts of the body of Christ, it is a religious act that is performed without any knowledge. In other parts of the body, it is given the serious giving the serious attention it deserves through excited adherence to giving it whole heartedly. In fact in some other parts it is understood to be the highest requirement in your walk with God and a cure for all afflictions. The scriptures however provide very clear answers on the subject of the giving of tithe. Some of which we shall look in this study.

3. Constancy of Financial Flow.
A consistent giving of tithe is what guarantees a consistent financial flow. When you do not pay your tithe there is no guarantee that what is in your hand will not dry up. When you stop tithe things become tight. Tithe therefore becomes the oil that keeps the wheel of your progress going. When tithe cease, it means the oil ceases and your financial upward journey becomes grounded. Prov.3:9-10, Haggai1:9-11.
4. COVENANT RESPONSIBILITY
Giving of tithe shows that you are a responsible partner with God who performs his own side of the agreement. God will always keep His own covenant. He never breaks His covenant. Ps.89:34. He has promised to keep you, provide for you, and bless you. Your side is just to obey him. When you refuse to give your tithe, you have broken the agreement. He is therefore no longer under obligation to you. It also shows that you are not responsible enough to the house of the Lord. Agreement and covenants work, when the parties involved fulfil their obligations to each other. It is your responsibilities to plant and water, it is God's own to give increase. When you do not the sowing, you render the increase impossible. 1Cor.3:6

The bible says when a thief is caught (discovered by revelation) he shall restore sevenfold" Pro.6:31. May the revelation of what satan has stolen in your life be dawn on you.

1. Get hold of the sword of the spirit, the word of God. Luke3:24
2. Pursue and overtake the enemy in warfare prayer. 1Sam.30:8,19
3. Bind the power of the enemy and forcefully posses possessions. Mat.11:12,12:29
