It's a serious problem for one to be in captivity. A captive is a slave to something or somebody and no libery of his/her own. Satan today has brought countless multitudes into captivity to drunkeness, fornication, adultery, to sin, sickness, demonic affliction, false prophet and religion, to fear of poverty and lack. It is not the will of God for you to remain a captive to any of these things. God want to set you free.
The Bible says "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away" and "The LORD looseth (set free) the prisoners (captives)". Isa. 49:25, Psalm146:7.
For the purpose of securing your release from every form of captivity and bondage, God sent His son Jesus Christ into the world, suffer for your shop and by His death and resurrection to deliver you from the hold of satan your captor. During the three days after His crucifixion on the cross, while still in the belly of the earth, Jesus through his death destroy death "him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage". Heb.2:14-15.
This Jesus "whom God raised up (from the dead), having loosed the pains of death because it was not possible that he (Jesus)should beholden of it.(death)" Acts2:24 HE can set you free from captive of sin, self, satan etc. "if the Son (Jesus) therefore shall make you free (from every captivity and bondage), ye shall be free indeed". John8:38.
